Chuck Harmon was called to be our pastor in September of 2004.  However, the Harmon family, Chuck, Melinda, Grace and Ward are no strangers to Fellowship Baptist Church.

In 1980, when Melinda was a senior in high school, her father, Melvin Dixon Jr., was called to be the pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church.  Chuck began attending in 1982 and the two of them began dating the same year.  They were married in the old sanctuary on March 2, 1985.  Chuck was saved at Fellowship on January 11, 1987 and answered the call to preach here in 1990.

Chuck and Melinda's children began attending FBC as infants.  Grace Harmon was born on May 3, 1989 and was dedicated here at FBC on Mother's Day 1989.  She was saved on Father's Day 1996 and baptized that same year.  Ward was born February 7, 1991 and dedicated on February 24, 1991 at FBC.

While at FBC, Chuck and Melinda served in many capacities: as Sunday School teachers, AWANA workers and commander, bus driver, pianist, etc..., but in October 2000, they began to feel God's call on their life to another church, knowing all along that their days at FBC were not finished.  They truly felt that God was only calling them away to eventually bring them back.  So they were not surprised when in the summer of 2004 Chuck was asked to fill the pulpit and was later called to be pastor.

Having been raised in the West Side community, Chuck has a great burden for the people that live in our community.  The Harmons live in the West Side area and are so glad that God is allowing them to serve him in the community in which they live.
